Stories

Lu Xun (鲁迅) lived 1933–1936

Lu Xun rented the third-floor apartment under the name of his Japanese friend Kamio Suguru to avoid KMT surveillance. He continued writing prolifically here until his death from tuberculosis in October 1936.

Xu Guangping (许广平) lived 1933–1936

Lu Xun's partner Xu Guangping lived here with their son Zhou Haiying. After Lu Xun's death, she dedicated her life to preserving his manuscripts and legacy.
